Made some new jewelry last night... very colorful! :)

Ceramic Ring

My newest ring... gave me quite a headache but it is finally done and it turned out pretty good. It has a double ring that is connected at the bottom, and is a size 7. The stone is actually a ceramic tile and there are holes on the side of the casing that show the sides of the tile, which are brown like the top. The ring is made of 950 silver. I plan to sell this one, but I can't sell it until the class is over (sometime in August) let me know if you are interested. E-mail: racheledwardscr@gmail.com

Teaching (First Day)

Started a teaching job today. I am teaching Bible, art, and reading to 3 kids, siblings. Went pretty well I would say. At one point I had them make color wheels and I explained how mixing 2 colors will make another color (i.e. if you mix blue and red you get purple). So best part of the day was the amazement on one kids face when he mixing the 2 colors of paint, painted it on his color wheel, and saw that they created a different color. It's like he didn't believe me when I said it but when he saw it apear on his paper, revolutionary. 

Museo de Arte Costarricense

Entered these two pieces in an exposition today at Museo de Arte Costarricense. It was pretty last minute that I heard about it, so not my preferred pieces to enter but better then nothing. There are no prizes just the possibility to sell a piece and get my name out there. This will be my first exposition or competition in Costa Rica :) yay! (It's about time!) It will be displayed in la Casa del Cuño, which is pretty small. When I got there to turn in my pieces there were a ton of submissions. Competition looks tough... so fingers crossed!

Busy Busy

I have a pretty busy weekend, which means I don't have much time to work on any paintings or drawings or anything else. My brother, his wife, and my adorable nephew came down to visit. We hung out on friday and I will hang out with them again on sunday for fathers day, along with our parents of course. I am heading to a quinceñera today (Saturday) and Monday is me and my boyfriends 2 year anniversary. Not going to get much of anything done, but I will have fun with family and friends :)
